EXHIBITIONS

Together with the AMNH Exhibition Department, the CBC produces exhibitions at the Museum to invite in-depth exploration of biodiversity and the natural world, and to share ways in which we can all become involved in conservation.

WATER: H2O = Life
A timely, in-depth look at one of the most pressing environmental issues that society faces today. WATER presents the comprehensive story of water from environmental, cultural, and scientific points of view, and also suggests actions people can take to help conserve our planet’s water.
Discovering Vietnam's Biodiversity
Vietnam's unique species of animals and plants, their geographic distributions, and recently discovered “new” species are shown, as well as threats to the natural environment and efforts to conserve it.
Exploring Bolivia's Biodiversity
Photographs highlight how the livelihoods and cultures of Bolivia's diverse peoples are inextricably tied to nature in many ways. Informative captions in English and Spanish also bring to light the collaboration between the CBC and Bolivian scientists and resource managers to survey critical habitats in protected areas and support community-based conservation projects, including the creation of community museums that interpret biological and cultural heritage for visitors.
Seasons of Life and Land: Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Photographs that focus on the interdependent relationships among the refuge's land, water, wildlife, and humanity.
Voices from South of the Clouds
Words and images in this exhibition were produced by villagers/ people of Yunnan Province in southwestern China. The Photovoice Project provided them with cameras, enabling them to use a combination of photography and story-telling to document the natural environment, long-standing customs and beliefs, as well as more recent changes to their lives.
Vital Variety: A Visual Celebration of Invertebrate Biodiversity
This exhibition pairs close-up photographs with informative captions that highlight the importance of the immense diversity of invertebrates, which comprise more than 80 percent of Earth's known species, and play a critical role in the survival of humankind.
Yellowstone to Yukon
A journey through the wilderness as well as the rapidly developing areas within the Yellowstone to Yukon region to explore an ambitious wildlife corridor initiative that connects habitats, enabling wide-ranging animals to travel unimpeded and to co-exist with human structures and development.
