Chanda Bennett Dr. Chanda Bennett received her doctoral degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Columbia University, where she studied the colonization history of invasive species by investigating the genetic profiles of nonnative populations of the small Indian mongoose in the Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands. During this time, Chanda was also dedicated to mentoring and improving science education through her position as a Kluge graduate student mentor, as a graduate teaching fellow in the National Science Foundation-funded GK-12 Education program, and as a mentor and program coordinator for the Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology summer research initiative. Currently, Chanda holds a postdoctoral fellowship appointment with the CBC, where she is continuing to pursue her interest in conservation biology literacy while conducting research exploring small mammal community composition in the New York metropolitan area.
