Christine Engels is Outreach/Evaluation Specialist at the American Museum of Natural History's Center for Biodiversity and Conservation (CBC). She coordinates evaluation of the CBC's curriculum project, the Network for Conservation Educators and Professionals (NCEP). She also provides evaluation and outreach expertise on many of the Center's projects, such as Treasures in the Sea, an education project in The Bahamas. She has extensive experience in environmental education, program evaluation and capacity-building. Prior to joining the CBC, Christine evaluated environmental education programs in Brazil and Peru, created educational materials and provided outreach to students and the public at the Philadelphia Zoo, developed capacity-building materials and trained environmental educators involved with the World Wildlife Fund, and participated in education and animal behavior research projects at the National Zoological Park. Christine has a B.S. in Biology from the American University and an M.A. in Tropical Conservation and Development from the University of Florida. |
