Ned Horning Ned Horning, Manager of the CBC's Biodiversity Informatics Facility, has over 20 years experience using remote sensing, GIS, and related skills including field mapping and the collection of characterization and validation data to aid and evaluate remote sensing-based mapping projects. His specialty is mapping and monitoring land cover at local through global scales. Recently he wrote the requirements for, and oversaw the development of, state-of-the-art, public domain image processing software being developed at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His work experience includes nine years working at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland and nine years working as an independent consultant in Fletcher, Vermont.
